In 2016 Bast Hatfield Construction, LLC added a 20,000 sq. ft. 2-story STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) wing to the fully renovated, existing 20,000 sq. ft. science building at the SUNY Adirondack campus. We simultaneously built the 16,000 sq. ft. Work Readiness Center where the campus conducts employment outreach for the students and hosts various career events. Highlights of the interior include simulated nursing labs, a large interior greenhouse, science laboratories with fume hoods, a 1,000 gallon built-in fish tank, a walk-in cadaver freezer, and a vegetative rooftop patio. The exterior is cladded with modern insulated metal panels, Alucobond soffits, and full height curtainwall. The site includes many radius sidewalks, a custom clock tower, and solid granite benches with engraved donor bench backs.
