Construction Management is a professional service that provides owners with the highest control over their building projects. This approach controls essential elements of a project: scope, time, cost and quality to meet critical project requirements while maximizing value.

The Construction Management project delivery system is based on an owner’s agreement with a qualified construction firm, separate from the architect, to provide construction leadership in addition to administrative and management duties. Typically the service is provided two ways:

Agency Format: the Construction Manager (CM) is an advisor to the Owner throughout the project.

At-Risk Format: the CM accepts no specific responsibility for project performance, including cost.

In New York State, the “Wickes Law” requires that all major publicly-procured construction into a minimum of four prime contracts: general construction, electrical, mechanical and plumbing.

The CM supervises and mediates the important players throughout the different phases of the construction process.
